Phew, just under the wire for April! I’ve been working on this piece on-and-off since the holidays. The Pernabuco pieces are great pieces to play at cafes and coffehouses.  Everyone seems to connect with this happy dance music, and it’s plenty of fun to play as well!

I really enjoyed this. The playing had a certain, what I would call “naivete” — I pictured a square in Spain, with a gentleman sitting at a cafe table playing as the late afternoon sun lingered on the warm cobblestones. It made me very happy.

OMG, I love Joao and the Choro style of Brazilian guitar music! You brought me back to many beautiful memories. Pernambuco is my favorite area of Brazil. Olinda, my 3 year old sheltie girl is named for a town in Pernambuco, a little colonial town just north of Recife. So, Thank you Mark, that was so beautifully done, and I SO appreciated it and it was a perfect gift for someone who knows this style of music! bejos!
