  • Welcome

If you’re new here, keep reading to get a quick tour of what you’ll find on this site.  If you’re an old friend, feel free to use the menu in the sidebar to dive on in.

It’s been a few decades since I started this journey with the guitar. As I look at my schedule, my bookshelf, and my list of goals, I realize that classical guitar has become a significant facet of my life. This site is a place for me to share some of what I’ve learned along the way (and maybe do a little shameless self-promotion as well.)

As you visit over time, you can expect to find thoughts and updates about:

    • My journey toward being a more confident, well-rounded musician
    • Books and other resources that I’ve found interesting and helpful
    • Samples of music I’m learning and playing
    • My personal performance schedule

Knowing this, hopefully the table of contents will be fairly self-explanatory; nevertheless, here’s what you can expect to find in each section:

    • Bookshelf contains reviews and summaries of books and websites that I feel are worth sharing.
    • Recordings contains audio recordings of me playing.  A sub-category of Recordings called Piece of the Month (POTM) is my commitment to you to post something new to listen to each month.  Usually the POTM is a new piece I’ve been working on recently, but sometimes I’ll also be reviving past repertoire.
    • Schedule lists information for upcoming scheduled performances I’m playing.  There’s also a link within this section to see where I’ve played in the past.  If you’ve attended a performance, please feel free to leave comments about it on the post for that specific performance.
    • Thoughts range from my observations about performing and music, to information about how I produce this site including recording and web design, to general musings about life, art, and the pursuit of happiness.

I hope you’ll find something of use and/or something you enjoy here. I’d welcome folks to share their thoughts, opinions, and reactions: this is still all very much a learning process for me and I’m happy for all the insight and perspective I can find!

    Cheers!
